Women from the Sea comes to Norway with a special premiere at Nor-Fishing 2026

The stories of women shaping the future of the Blue Economy are heading to Norway.

On 20 August, the Women from the Sea – Significant Gestures documentary episode, produced by Help Images in collaboration with the WIN-BIG project, will have its Norwegian premiere during Nor-Fishing 2026.

The screening will take place at 10:00 on the Forskningstorget Stage (Hall E), offering visitors the opportunity to discover powerful stories of women whose lives and careers are deeply connected to the sea.

The documentary explores the many ways women contribute to the Blue Economy, from research and innovation to fisheries, entrepreneurship and coastal communities. Through personal testimonies and stunning imagery, Women from the Sea celebrates the passion, resilience and leadership of women working to shape a more sustainable future for our oceans.

The Norwegian premiere is organised by WIN-BIG partner NCE Blue Legasea and marks another important milestone in bringing these stories to new audiences across Europe.

The screening builds on the wider Women from the Sea documentary series and complements the recently launched Women Ocean Champions book, another WIN-BIG initiative showcasing inspiring women from across Europe's sea basins.
