Cultural Intelligence as a Competitive Edge

ÅKP Innovation Arena, NMK, Ålesund

GCE Blue Maritime Cluster, NCE Blue Legasea, NTNU, Markom and Seema are organising an insightful workshop that addresses Norwegian business culture in the marine and maritime industry, and whether it succeeds in attracting and retaining the minds of tomorrow.

The seminar, held in English, will offer insight into

  • Trends affecting the maritime industry
  • How academia and industry work together to understand and meet competence needs
  • What Actually Drives Talent Attraction
  • Norwegian work and social culture – and how it is experienced from the outside
  • How cultural intelligence can be used as a practical tool in a global industry
  • Reflections from the industry on the link between diversity and profitability
  • Group discussions and experiences from the industry
  • What is needed to build the necessary capacity for diversity management in the maritime sector
  • How we can implement this in practice – both in academia and in companies

The seminar is funded by “MARKOM”, a national program to drive development of relevant knowledge for the maritime sector through educational institutions.
